My Journey to America – Vietnam War

Vietnam War

In order to understand a little bit more about where I came from and my back ground, I would like to share a brief history about the Vietnam War and its impact on me as a young child and as an adult. Even to this day, I am never in favor of wars and definitely not a fan of watching any type of war movies. No one really win. After the war, we were left with deaths and destruction.Cholon_after_Tet_Offensive_operations_1968

Thanks to the internet technology of today, I was able to research the details of the Vietnam War at my finger tips. The Wikipedia and several other websites were great resources for my research. I found different articles of different opinions about the war as well as timeline of the war.

My family members and friends were a wealth of information as well. Some people believed that Americans shouldn’t have been involved while others believed that Americans should have done more. After the fall of Saigon, many facts and opinions surfaced. Some Vietnamese believed that there were great losses in casualties in the communists. The communists’ supplies and moralities were dwindling. If the Americans continued to bomb North Vietnam, the Americans would win the war. Some South Vietnamese queried “Why did America abandon Vietnam?”
